Today marked the official release of the 2023 $5 Australian World Heritage coin. It was exciting to have the first look at these already infamous coins at both our Milton & Kenmore store locations - perks of being one of the RAM’s official retailers!

The coins were already in high demand; with messages flooding through our Shopify inbox, Facebook Messenger, & Instagram direct messages – it was hard to keep up! Unlike previous Royal Australian Mint drops, we were unable to hold products for customers prior to the release date & were advised to manage orders under a strict one per customer per household restriction.

With millions of calls & messages coming through at once, we wished our valued customers the best of luck & put 30 coins online at 9 am sharp. By 9:10 am, we had sold out… or so we thought. As we began packing orders, we noticed some customers had ordered over the one coin per customer, per household limit… so we corrected the surpluses, & the flood gates opened once again.

By 9:39 am, we had sold out again… or so we thought. As we processed & packed more orders, we realized we were left with 6 extra coins!

A few ultra-lucky walk-in customers were able to get their hands on a coin, & then the remaining items went online for the final wave.

Today was certainly a busy one where we learnt a lot about our processes. Bring on the next drop!
